Tribies,
I have just spent a long weekend away visiting amazing friends with my family. It was trip that had been cancelled a number of times during lockdowns. They live in a state that had it's borders closed to us for many many months.
This weekend we hung out talking for hours, enjoyed meals together, the kids swam in the pool A LOT and rode around on bikes. We sat around fires at night sipping on red wine, sharing our achievements, trouble and joys, played games, laughed and sang.
It was such a wonderful weekend, I feel like I've refuelled and I'm energised.
I share this with you because it is amazing how different I feel now compared to when I arrived. The time spent connecting with friends and NOT constantly thinking about what I 'Should' be doing.
Also, having a food plan going into the weekend had me get home feeling proud of myself.
Holidays, dinners out with friends or any celebration shouldn't be layerd with indecision, shoulding and worrying about failing. They should be moments of great joy and fun, showing up to the plan you set yourself because your prefrontal cortex, that part of the brain that can make great decisions without emotional pressure, has set you a great plan.
The more you practice setting a plan and showing up to it, the better you become at actually doing it.
